The monster in distribution that is Amazon recently launched the Kindle Fire. This device has a 7 inch touch screen, WiFi connection and stereo speakers. What it seeks is to facilitate the use of multimedia products and applications available today on Amazon. Many have begun to compare it with the Apple iPad, and even dare to say that will take the lead in the market, I do not share this idea.
Ok, it's a small device, bright and connected to the Internet, WHAT'S IT TO ME!? Well, to begin with the Kindle Fire is priced at $199, while the cheapest iPhone costs $ 500! If Amazon manages to hurt Apple's sales, we could see a significant reduction in the price of the iPad and other similar tablets, and that's always good.
Second, Amazon has on of the biggest library of movies, music, books and applications in the market. Through the Fire, you'll have all these delights at your fingertips! Sure, as long as you're willing to pay the price, or you're very good at getting things for free on the web ;)
The Fire could be your ideal travel companion, you can watch movies on the go (provided you're not the one driving), play a bit to let off steam at the end of the day, and read a chapter of your new digital book before bedtime.
At work, it can help show a presentation to your client, have a dedicated application to help you track inventory or could even be used as a training tool.
One things for sure, the Kindle Fire and all the other tablets on the market are eating up the niche previously occupied by PCs, Laptops and Netbooks. Keep it in mind if you are thinking about changing your computer this Christmas.
